Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa
MOOREA, FRENCH POLYNESIA
An island paradise where lush mountains meet crystal-clear lagoons.
PERSONALLY EXPERIENCED
My Take on Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa
If you love the idea of an overwater bungalow but want a little more adventure mixed into your tropical escape, Moorea might be your perfect island.
We stayed in an overwater bungalow at Hilton Moorea, and one of my favorite things was being able to snorkel right off our own dock. There's something pretty incredible about stepping outside your bungalow and jumping straight into the lagoon to explore what's beneath the surface.
Compared to our stay at The St. Regis Bora Bora, Moorea had a livelier, more adventurous atmosphere. There was more to see and do, and we loved having that balance of relaxation and activity. Our dock was also less windy, which made spending time outside even more enjoyable.
If I could have taken our gorgeous bungalow from Bora Bora and placed it in Moorea, I think we would have had the best of both worlds! The accommodations at The St. Regis were hard to beat, and that unbelievable color of the water in Bora Bora is still in a league of its own.
One Thing to Know: If you're deciding between Bora Bora and Moorea, don't assume they're interchangeable. Bora Bora is hard to beat for that iconic turquoise lagoon and luxurious, secluded resort experience. Moorea offers a different kind of beauty, with lush mountains, outdoor adventures and plenty of opportunities to explore.
Who I'd Recommend It For: Couples, honeymooners and active travelers who want the overwater bungalow experience but also enjoy snorkeling, exploring and mixing a little adventure into their relaxation.
